ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team concludes a busy three-match weekend with a 9-0 shutout win over Findlay on Sunday. The Lakers improve to 9-0 overall and 8-0 in the GLIAC with the win, while the Oilers drop to 0-8 overall and in the conference with the loss.
GVSU started off the day with three wins from doubles competition.

Aimee Moccia won 8-4 in the No. 1 match,

Alexa Sweeney won 8-5 in the No. 2 match, and

Livia Christman blanked their opponent 8-0 in the No. 3 match.
In singles competition, Grand Valley State completed the sweep by winning all six matches. Not a single match required a third set or any form of tiebreaker. Sweeney won match one 6-0, 6-3, Moccia won match two 6-1, 6-4, Christman won match three 6-3, 6-1, Ballard won match four 6-0, 6-3,
Samantha Schrepferman won match five 6-0, 6-1, and
Nicole Heiniger won match six 6-0, 6-0.
The Lakers face yet another busy weekend. The team splits in two when one half travels to Wisconsin to compete in the two-day University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational from Friday (Oct. 9) to Saturday (Oct. 10), while the rest of the squad travels to Ohio for a pair of GLIAC matches against Walsh on Saturday (Oct. 10) and Ashland on Sunday (Oct. 11).
