Oilers Fall to #21 Ferris State

The University of Findlay volleyball team welcomed #21 Ferris State University on Friday, October 21 for a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) showdown.  #21 Ferris State is the leader of the GLIAC North Division, while Findlay sits at the top of the standings in the South Division.  The Oilers were unable to knock of the Bulldogs, as they fell 3-0 (23-25, 15-25, 20-25) in the battle of the conference leaders.  Findlay drops to 15-6 on the season and 8-2 in GLIAC play.

The Oilers struggled offensively as they finished the match with only a .055 hitting percentage.  Senior Hannah Tong led the Oilers offensively with 12 kills.

Junior Nickyla Garverick led the team with six total blocks, while senior Mallorie Kah ended the match with five total blocks.

Sophomore Kara Scherger had a team high 11 digs and junior Megan Wendel added nine digs.

Sophomore Hailee Olson distributed the ball effectively on the night and recorded 22 assists. 

The Oilers return to the court on Saturday, October 22 for another GLIAC matchup in Croy Gymnasium against the Lakers of Grand Valley State University.  The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
