Ortenzi Collects 500th Save in Tiffin Loss

The Tiffin University women's soccer team battled the elements and Ashland University Eagles on Friday night, falling 5-0 in the final regular season game of the year.

It didn't take the Eagles long to get on the board, scoring just 56 seconds into the game. Ashland would add two more goals to take a 3-0 lead to the half. The Eagles offense was relentless, firing 11 shots in the first half. Tiffin's offense managed only one shot on goal in the half.

The Eagles punched in two more goals in the opening 12 minutes of the second half to take a 5-0 lead. Tiffin's lone 2nd half shot came in the 71st minute, and it resulted in a Carla Briscoe unassisted goal for the Dragons.

Tiffin's goalkeeper Samantha Ortenzi, needing only four saves to reach 500 career saves collected nine in her time in goal to give her 505 career saves.

The Dragons fall to 7-9-1 overall and 6-3 in the GLIAC. The loss has no affect on Tiffin's GLIAC Tournament seeding as the Dragons will host Davenport University on Tuesday at 12:00 pm.
