TOLEDO, Ohio - The Wayne State University men's tennis team (2-5) fell to University of Toledo (5-4) on Saturday at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club. The Warriors dropped the match 7-0 to the Rockets.
Senior
Gopinath Menta (Hyderabad, India) and
Mohamed Fazyl Kechai (Paris, France) lost 2-6 at No. 1 doubles. Sophomore
Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) and
Harvey Reed (Winchester, Hampshire, England) fell 2-6 at No. 2 doubles.
Kechai fell in the top flight of singles 6-1, 6-1 and Charriere lost at No. 2 singles with set scores of 3-6, 2-6.
Senior
Trey Keating (Troy, Mich.) and Menta both had the longest matches of the day. Keating fell in straight sets, (6-7, (3-7), 3-6) at No. 3 singles. Menta also won his second set at No. 4 singles (2-6, 7-5, 7-10).
The Warriors return to the tennis court Friday, February 20 at 6 p.m. at Western Michigan.
