Box Score The Malone University volleyball team lost a 3-1 contest to visiting Ursuline College on Tuesday evening in the Pioneers' home opener of the 2014 season.
Malone fell by the score of 22-25, 25-21, 19-25 and 18-25. With the loss, Malone dropped to 2-3 overall on the year while Ursuline improved to 3-1 on the season.
Outside hitters
Sarah Brent and
Taylor Slauterbeck each blasted a team-high 10 kills for the match while outside hitters
Anna Hays and
Shelbi Meek each tallied seven kills on the night. The setter duo of
Jordan Sollars and
Lindsay Ulfig recorded 20 and 18 assists in the match while defensive specialist/libero
Katie Hasebein racked up an impressive 24 digs in the contest.
Malone will next compete in its 2014 GLIAC opener on Friday when the Pioneers travel to Ohio Dominican University for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
