TU falls to Huskies 80-46

Tiffin University could not keep up with visiting Michigan Tech, as the Huskies played four solid quarters in dispatching the Dragons 80-46. TU falls to 4-9, 2-6.

Shooting woes separated TU from the Huskies early on, as the Dragons shot just 18 percent in the first quarter while MTU hit at a 46 percent clip. Michigan Tech led 21-10 after one period.

The second quarter was much the same, as MTU outscored TU 20-11 in the frame to amass a 41-21 halftime lead. They controlled the paint, outscoring TU 18-6 inside and made the most of 7 Dragons turnovers, scoring 14 points off them.

TU shot just 22 percent in the first half while the Huskies shot .455. They also held a 24-15 edge in rebounding.

The second half continued the trend, with TU hitting just 2 shots and shooting 14 percent while the Huskies pulled away with a 17-7 scoring edge to put the game away.

The Dragons finished shooting just 23 percent while the Huskies controlled play overall with a 46 percent shooting average. They dominated inside with a 51-32 rebounding margin and a 34-14 paint scoring edge. 

The Huskies also continued to thrive off Dragons' turnovers, totaling 23 points off 14 turnovers. 

Kristen Massey led TU in scoring with 14 points, including 7 for 9 from the line. Sarah Cummings also scored 10 points.

Allie Miller had 9 points, while Bre Nauman had 6 points and 7 rebounds.
