TU continues hot streak with 8-1 win

The Dragons' Women's Tennis Team continues to impress as they finish their road trip 2-0 and add to their already impressive record.

The Dragons, fresh off of a win against Michigan Tech, traveled to take on Lake Superior State, with TU dispatching the Lakers 8-1.

TU started off strong in doubles, not losing a single match. Nelhage and Kaye won yet again via the score of 8-6 over Tara Harvey/Jenay Andrews. The pairing have been dominant thus far in the season and surely one of the better doubles teams in the GLIAC. Sim and Musina continued their winning ways as the pairing won their doubles match by a swift score of 8-0 over Laura Fernandez/Macarena Bielsa. Another close match at 3rd doubles saw Brozovich and Avram taking care of business as they defeated Laura Roberts/Allison Grandfield 8-6.

The Dragons continued into singles play with a 3-0 lead and didn't let off the pedal, winning 5 of the 6 singles matches. Nelhage cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Tara Harvey while Musina didn't drop a game at 2nd singles winning 6-0, 6-0 over Laura Roberts. 3rd singles saw Emily Sim taking the first set 6-2 before Macarena Bielsa retired. 4th singles was another victory for the Dragons as Bianca Avram made quick work of Laura Fernandez 6-1, 6-4. Aimee Kaye won her match 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 at 5th singles. TU's lone loss was Andrea Alaniz at 6th singles as she fell 3-6, 3-6 to Allison Grandfield.

TU's next match will be at home against rival Findlay on the 22nd before preparing for the GLIAC Tournament. The Dragons improved to 11-1 overall, 9-1 in the GLIAC on the season while LSSU drops to 4-7 overall, 3-7 in the GLIAC.
