Box Score The Malone University women's soccer team lost its first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) home game Friday afternoon to Saginaw Valley State University (MI), 3-1.

The Cardinals got off to a quick start, as they scored their first goal of the game in the 6
th minute of the first half to take an early 1-0 lead. The Pioneers were able to answer back as
Brianna Smith scored her fourth goal of the season in the 28
th minute of the first half.

Both teams were playing physical as the score at the half was tied at one apiece.

Going into the second half, the Cardinals scored within 10 minutes, making it a 2-1 lead and then scored once again in the 71
st minute.

In her first game as goalkeeper,
Kari Naylor had seven saves on the afternoon.

The Pioneers, now 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the GLIAC, will return to action on Sunday as they head to play rival Walsh University at 1 p.m. You can watch the live stats here:
