The Tiffin University volleyball team was dominant on Saturday afternoon, defeating the GLIAC South leading Wayne State Warriors 3-1.

The Dragons got off to a slow start in the opening set, eventually falling 25-18. The majority of the damage done to Tiffin was self inflicted, committing nine attack errors in the set.

The Dragons' attack awoke in the second set as they slammed 17 kills. With the score tied 20-20, Tiffin won two of the next three points to grab a 22-21 lead. Wayne State battled hard, tying the score 23-23. The Dragons slammed the door on Wayne State over the course of the next two points, tying the match 1-1 with a 25-23 second set win.

The Dragons played from behind in the 3rd set, but made their move towards the midway point in the set. Trailing 10-8, Tiffin rumbled forward on a 10-3 run to take an 18-13 lead. Tiffin continued to build upon their lead as they raced to the finish line with a 25-17 win. Tiffin committed only one attack error and hit at a .325 clip. Defensively, the Dragons held the Warriors to a .152 hitting percentage and forced eight attack errors.

In the final set, it was all hands on deck as the Dragons and Warriors went blow for blow waiting to see who would blink. The Warriors, holding a slim 23-20 lead, wilted under the Dragons' pressure, as Tiffin put together a 6-1 run to come from behind and upset the Warriors. Tiffin got half of their final six points from kills and the other half from attack errors by Wayne State.

Jenna Huffman led the charge for Tiffin finishing with 14 kills, 17 digs, and 4.5 blocks. Danielle Hicks collected 13 kills and 10 digs, and Emily Weithman compiled 25 assists. On the defensive end, Tiffin combined for 12 assisted blocks and two solo blocks.
