Coach Tanya Hockman gets a lift from her team after Tuesday's 3-1 win at Walsh. The victory was Hockman's 400th as the Pioneer coach.

The Malone University volleyball team earned a 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21 victory at Walsh University Tuesday evening -- a triumph that gave 16th-year Pioneer head coach Tanya Hockman her 400th career win at the school.

Hockman's record at Malone is now 400-229 and the GLIAC win was the Pioneers' ninth in their last 10 conference matches.  Malone now stands at 12-12 overall and 9-5 in the GLIAC while Walsh fell to 2-20 overall and to 2-12 in conference play.

A trio of Pioneers amassed 10+ kills in the contest to pace the Malone offense as outside hitter Sarah Brent led the way with 12 kills. Outside hitter Anna Hays followed with 11 kills and outside hitter Shelbi Meek added 10 more. In addition, middle hitter Haley Kool and outside hitter Taylor Slauterbeck drilled eight kills each. Setters Jordan Sollars and Brianna Clegg offered up 27 and 20 assists, respectively.

Defensively, Katie Hasebein recorded 33 digs while Slauterbeck followed with 15.  Middle hitter Elizabeth Maczuzak recorded a team-best three block assists.

Malone will next compete at GLIAC opponent Hillsdale College (MI) on Friday (Oct. 31) in a 7:00 p.m. contest.
