Sophia Lima and the Dragons came up just short at Ashland 2-1.
The Tiffin University women's soccer team battled on Saturday afternoon against the Ashland University Eagles but could not get a second-half goal to equalize, falling 2-1.

The Eagles sent plenty of shots at TU in the 1st half, but TU goalie Shelby Haworth kept the Eagles close. The early 7th-minute header goal from the Eagle's defender Sydney Wright gave the Eagles the early lead.

The Dragons found their equalizer goal in the 18th minute, as Carla Briscoe scored after stealing the ball from the defender and beating the goalkeeper one-on-one.

Tiffin couldn't keep the score tied for long, though, as Ashland took their lead back in the 42nd minute of the 1st half. Ashland striker Faith Lewis managed to score the through pass from Tori Baker to give AU a 2-1 lead at the half.

In the 2nd half, Tiffin once again faced 11 shots from the Eagles but not of them landed in the net as Haworth saved 5 of them.

Overall, Ashland delivered 22 shots and 11 corner kicks while the Dragons had 2 total shots and one corner. Haworth posted 10 saves in taking the loss.

The Dragons will play their first home game on September 3rd at 1:00 PM against the University of Charleston.
