Dragons Swept by Oilers in GLIAC Action

The University of Findlay volleyball team swept Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Tiffin University on Friday, October 24 by a 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-15) final. The road win pushed Findlay's record to 14-6 (9-3).

Three players paced the Oilers offense in the contest. Sophomore Hannah Tong led the team with nine kills while junior Julie Lyons and sophomore Andrea Roach had eight kills each. Lyons and freshman Nickyla Garverick had two blocks a piece. Garverick also added seven kills.

Junior Becca Shoemaker led the defense for the Oilers as she collected 13 digs in the three set victory.

Senior Amanda Calhoun helped aid the offense with her 35 assists.

Sophomore Shannon Ebert was a threat while serving as she picked up 2 aces in the match.

The Oilers are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, October 25 as they travel to Ohio Dominican to take on the Panthers in GLIAC action in a match set to begin at 2pm.
