The Tiffin University women's basketball team faced a tough task on Saturday, taking on the Ohio Dominican Panthers (11-6, 6-4 GLIAC) in Columbus. The Dragons held their own in the 1st half, but the Panthers took control in the 2nd half, winning 79-65.

Ohio Dominican led from the opening tip, pushing their lead to as much as ten points before the Dragons were able to use a 10-6 run to trail 25-19 after the 1st quarter. Kristen Massey opened the 2nd quarter with a made three pointer to trim the Dragons' deficit to three. The Panthers responded with a 10-0 run to push their lead to its largest at 35-22. Tiffin kept fighting, closing the gap to 39-32 with an Ali Schirmer made three just before halftime.

At the break, Tiffin hit 46.4% of their shots in the 1st half, including an impressive 6 of 11 from beyond the arc. The glaring difference between the two sides came on the boards with the Panthers holding a huge 28-9 rebounding advantage, which included a 15-2 lead in the offensive rebounding category. 

Tiffin went cold to start the 3rd quarter, scoring only three points in the first four minutes of action. On the other side of the floor, Ohio Dominican plowed ahead, extending their lead to 54-38 halfway through the quarter. The Panthers kept Tiffin at a distance, heading to the 4th quarter with a 66-50 lead.

In the final quarter, Tiffin cut the deficit to 11 points, but were unable to close the gap any further. The Panthers scored only 13 points in the quarter, but were able to keep Tiffin's offense under wraps, holding the Dragons to 15 4th quarter points. At the final horn, the Dragons fell 79-65.

TU had four players score ten or more points, with Ali Schirmer leading the way with 13. Bre Nauman added 11 points and 7 rebounds, and Kristen Massey and Sarah Cummings each posted 10 points.

The loss drops the Dragons to 4-11 overall and 2-8 in GLIAC play.
