The Tiffin University softball team had a pair of games slip through their fingers, falling to Florida Tech 3-1 and 1-0.

Game One

A lead off triple greeted Tiffin in the bottom half of the 1st, and an error followed to allow Florida Tech to take an early 1-0 lead. Starting pitcher Tiffany Snell settled down and cruised through the second and third innings.

In the top of the 4th the Dragons scratched a run across to tie the score. Alayna Lytle singled, and moved to second on Brooke Lambert's bunt single. A fielding error loaded the bases, and one out later the Panthers committed another error enabling the Dragons to tie the score 1-1.

A half an inning later spelled the end for Tiffin, surrendering a pair of runs on an inside the park home run to give the Panthers a 3-1 lead.

Snell was the tough luck loser on the mound for Tiffin, going the distance on the hill. Tiffany surrendered six hits, three runs, two earned, and punched out three. At the plate Tiffin managed only four hits.

Game Two

Runs were at a premium for both teams in the night cap, with hits being hard to come by as well. Tiffin starter Kimmy Reynolds had everything working on the bump, allowing only two hits through the first three innings.

Reynolds ran into trouble in the 4th, allowing the lead off batter to reach via a walk. That walk came back to haunt Tiffin the very next batter, as a double was rifled down the left field line to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.

The Tiffin offense had little luck throughout, mustering only three hits as the Dragons fell 1-0.

Tiffin falls to 6-9 overall and will be back in action on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
