The Tiffin University men's basketball team let one slip through their fingers on Thursday night, falling 77-61 to the Davenport University Panthers. The Dragons held a double digit lead at one point in the game, but surrendered 54 2nd half points as the Panthers shot 67.9% in the 2nd half.

The Dragons started the game well, hitting 41.4% of their field goals in the 1st half, but the biggest surprise was Tiffin's ferocious 1st half defense. Tiffin held one of the GLIAC's highest scoring teams to 23 1st half points on 33.3% shooting. Tiffin's offensive success came from their post play, outscoring the Panthers 20-6 in the paint in the 1st half. The Dragons took all the momentum to the halftime locker room, using a Austin Adams buzzer beater to hold a 27-23 lead.

Tiffin's lead slowly grew as the 2nd half started, reaching 10 points at the 18:30 mark. As quickly as the lead had grown, it started to slip away as the Panthers were on fire in the 2nd half. Davenport poured in 54 2nd half points on 67.9% shooting from the floor, and were lethal from deep, hitting 6 of 10 2nd half three point attempts. The Panthers inside game improved as well, scoring 24 points in the paint in the 2nd half, compared to Tiffin's 10.

At the final horn, the Dragons had fallen 77-61, putting their record at 2-6 overall and 0-3 in the GLIAC. Tiffin was led in scoring by Shane Waldon and Alex Brown, both scoring 14 points.
