Men's Tennis Has Dominant Outing Against Post

The Warriors won all nine matches.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Wayne State University men's tennis team (10-3 overall) mixed up the lineup and cruised past Post University (1-4 overall) 7-0 on Sunday afternoon. 

SINGLES
The Warriors were pretty dominant throughout the contest, sweeping five of the six singles matches.  Ben Lakeman (Penzance Cornwall, England) posted the first win, earning a 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 3 singles. 

Cedric Drenth (Sulzbach, Germany) was the next winner, collecting a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles.  

Playing at No. 2 singles, Niklas Karcz (Bottrop, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany) was strong, recording a 6-2, 6-1 win. 

Dom Spicer (London, England) continued his strong play by winning 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. 

Donovan Nguyen (Shelby Township, Mich. / Utica) swept his opponent at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-2. 

At No. 6 singles, Joe Steele (Beverly Hills, Mich. / U. of Detroit Jesuit) won a three-set battle, 6-7 (6), 6-2, 10-7. 

DOUBLES
Like singles, the Warriors were strong in doubles.  Karcz and Lakeman won at No. 1 doubles, 6-3. 

Spicer and Drenth posted a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles. 

Ryan Okonski (Stevensville, Mich. / St. Joseph) and David Pluszczyk (White Lake, Mich. / Lakeland) earned a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

UP NEXT
The Green and Gold will hit the court again on March 14 against Embry-Riddle.  That match will begin at 11 AM in Daytona Beach, Fla.
