Oilers Tie Wildcats 0-0

Marquette, MI- The University of Findlay women's soccer team tied the Northern Michigan University Wildcats on Sunday, October 2. This tie gives the Oilers a 3-6-1 overall record and a 1-2-1 record in the conference.

In the first half, the Oilers outshot the Wildcats 10-6.  Junior goalkeeper Sarah Baer attained three saves to the Wildcat's seven saves.  

In the second half, the Oilers had twelve shots on goal to Northern Michigan's eight shots. 

At the end of the second half, the Oilers and Wildcats were tied 0-0 to lead into the first overtime.

In the first overtime, the Oilers outshot the Wildcats five to zero.  The first overtime proved scoreless and Findlay and Northern Michigan were still tied 0-0.

In the second overtime, the Oilers achieved two shots to zero shots achieved by Northern Michigan.

Throughout the game, the Oilers dominated the Wildcats 29 shots to 14 shots.

The Oilers defense, lead by senior Kate Prewitt and senior Nicole Mikolcic shut out the Wildcats from penetrating the net. 

Junior goalkeeper Sarah Baer had five saves throughout the game to keep Northern Michigan from scoring.

The Oilers will take the pitch again Friday, October 2nd at 1:00pm against Ashland University at Armstrong Sports Complex.
