Tiffin University pulled out a 6-2 win in the nightcap to get a spllit with Davenport.

Tiffin University (18-13, 6-2 GLIAC) battled all day but came up just short of posting a sweep of Davenport, falling 1-0 in the opener before bouncing back for a 6-2 win in game two.

In game two, Tiffin got solid relief work from Faith Bogard, who relieved Tiffany Snell after 2.1 innings of work. Bogard tossed the next 3.1 innings, allowing just one earned run on two hits.

She got run support in the third inning, when Brooke Lambert singled, and advanced to third on a wild pitch and sacrifice. Sierra Besser-Paul then hit a foul sacrifice fly down the left field line that plated Lambert.

TU blew the game open in the fifth inning with five runs. Lambert opened with a home run to left field. Jamie Sevenish then walked and after a Besser-Paul single, both runners moved up on an error by the third baseman. Lindsay Graves's bunt attempt led to a throwing error at third base that scored Sevenish. Alayna Lytle then cleared the bases with a triple and subsequently scored on April Bennett's single to make it 6-0.

In the sixth inning, a bases loaded walk chased Bogard as Kimmy Reynolds came in in relief. She got a ground out to second to end the threat. She closed out the seventh inning to get the save.

Lambert had a strong game with 3 hits  including a home run, while Bennett and Ally Rock both had two hits.

In the opener, Reynolds threw a gem, going 7 innings and allowing just 5 hits and 1 earned run while fanning 9, but simply got outpitched by Mallory Teunisson, who allowed just 4 hits, no runs, no walks, and fanned 11.

The long extra base hit came from Besser-Paul with a double. Davenport got its lone run with a double followed by a single in the sixth inning. TU could not manage a baserunner over the final 3.1 innings of play as Teunisson was just too tough.
