Preview: Laker Women's Basketball Hit the Road to Take on Purdue Northwest and Wisconsin-Parkside

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State women's basketball program (5-14, 2-9 GLIAC) is set to travel to face the Purdue Northwest Pride and the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers on Thursday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 4 for a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road games.

The Pride are currently holding a record of 6-15 (2-9 GLIAC). Offensively, the Pride have Dash Shaw leading the team with 18.1 points per game while Kylie Schmidt leads the Pride in rebounds with an average of 6.6 per game. The Lakers came away with a decisive 78-65 victory in the previous meeting between the two programs in which both Mattison Rayman (Otsego, Mich.) and Margot Woughter (Traverse City, Mich.) each came away with 25 points while Rayman also secured an impressive 18 rebounds for the double-double. 

The Rangers currently hold a record of 13-8 (8-3 GLIAC). Alyssa Nelson leads the Rangers with an average of 22.3 points per game. Three different Lakers finished with double-digit scoring in the previous matchup between the two programs, but it was the Rangers that came away with an 86-70 victory in the Soo. Parkside will take on the Ferris State Bulldogs prior to their Saturday meeting with the Lakers.
