Dragons offense stalls in losses to Northwood

Tiffin University (20-27, 5-15 GLIAC) struggled to put runs on the board, falling to Northwood 1-0 and 4-2 in a twinbill loss.

In the 1-0 defeat, Tiffin had its chances, as they had 7 hits. But the Dragons stranded 7 runners over the final four innings. 

In the fifth inning, Jamie Sevenish singled, stole second, and advanced to third with no outs on an errant throw by the catcher. But with one out, Sevenish was caught trying to steal home. The Dragons followed with two singles but could not bring anyone around to score. The Dragons had only one more single the rest of the way.

Northwood got a two-out single in the third inning to plate their only run.

Kimmy Reynolds surrendered only 3 hits in the game but was plagued by 5 walks over 7 innings. She fanned 6.

The Dragons offense had just one extra base hit, as Alayna Lytle had a double.

In the nightcap, the Tiimberwolves tallied all four runs over the first two innings, chasing starter April Bennett after 1.1 innings on 2 earned runs.

Trailing 4-0 in the fifth, the Dragons got half the difference back. Kate-Lynn Urgo and Lindsay Graves had singles. With Urgo on third base, Lytle lifted a sacrifice fly to plate TU's first run. Sevenish then followed with an RBI single, but TU got just one more single the rest of the way.

Urgo finished with 2 hits, while all of TU's 7 hits were singles. 

Tiffany Snell finished the game for TU, tossing 4.2 innings and allowing no earned runs on 2 hits.
