Dragons battle Pride to double overtime draw

Tiffin University (5-4-3, 4-2-2 GLIAC) battle Purdue Northwest over 110 minutes but neither team could find the back of the net, settling for a 0-0 double overtime tie.

Both teams had numerous chances, as PNU outshot TU 20-16. Cary Wilson made 9 saves over 110 minutes, while Noel Keeble registered 5 for the Pride.

The Pride controlled much of the tempo during regulation, outshooting TU 17-10, including a 7-3 edge at the half. But TU turned it up in the second overtime period, outshooting PNU 5-2. They opened the final overtime period with a barrage of four shots in 70 seconds requiring two saves. TU also got a shot off with less than 4 minutes to play that was also saved.

Purdue Northwest had the advantage in corner kicks 9-6. Both teams had shots on goal in the closing minutes of regulation but could not punch one home.

The Dragons' defense tightened up during the overtime periods, not allowing any shots on goal over the final 20 minutes.
