The Tiffin University men's basketball team was the victim of 17 made three pointers by Saginaw Valley State as the Dragons fell 86-69 on Saturday afternoon.

The 1st half was tightly contested by both sides, and the box score showed it. The only difference between the two squads was the three point line as the Cardinals hit three more triples than Tiffin, enabling the Cardinals to hold a 39-30 lead at the break.

Tiffin had a slow start shooting from the field, connecting on only 36.7% of their field goal attempts. On the other end of the floor, Saginaw Valley hit 68.2% of their field goal attempts and 7 of 10 three point attempts.

In the 2nd half, the Cardinals shooting percentage from the field dropped by 10%, but they kept connecting from long range as they scored 30 of their 47 2nd half points from beyond the arc. The Dragons' offense played better as they scored 39 points, but they were unable to make up enough ground as they fell 86-69.

Terrell Mabins came off the bench to lead Tiffin in scoring with 14 points on 6 of 10 shooting. Shane Waldon was the lone starter in double figures, scoring 10 points. Quentin Jones chipped in with 10 points off the bench, and Austin Adams led Tiffin in rebounding with nine boards.

The Dragons fall to 6-12 overall and 2-9 in the GLIAC.
