The Tiffin University softball team made it a clean sweep at the Mid-South Tournament, hammering out 11 hits which led to eight runs in an 8-5 win over Barton. Tiffin's offense averaged over 4.5 runs per game throughout the Tournament while allowing the opposition less than two runs per game.

Tiffin ambushed the Bulldogs from the start, pushing home a pair of runs in the top of the 2nd inning. Amanda Rock led off with a single, and rolled all the way home on a Lindsay Graves single and throwing error by the Bulldogs to make it 1-0. Graves was hot on the trail of Rock, scoring right behind her on a wild pitch to put Tiffin in control at 2-0.

The runs kept coming an inning later, pushing home a single run to lead 3-0. After Sierra Besser-Paul reached on a fielder's choice, Hayley Kobie pushed Besser-Paul home with a single to right field.

The rout was on in the top of the 4th as Tiffin's offense muzzled the Bulldogs for good, scoring four runs on five hits. Alayna Lytle began the inning with an infield single, and was pinch run for by Gabrielle Hess. Allyson Rock found the left centerfield gap with a laser that rolled all the way to the fence, moving Hess to third base with no outs. April Bennett kept the merry-go-round spinning with a single to score Hess and make it 4-0. Bennett then swiped second and moved to third with Jamie Sevenish's runs scoring single to right field to give the Dragons a 5-0 advantage. After a pitching change and a recorded out, Sierra Besser-Paul put the finishing touches on the frame with a screaming double down the left field line to push home a pair of runs and make it 7-0.

Barton got two runs back in the bottom half of the 4th, but that was as good as it was going to get for the Bulldogs. Tiffin added another run in the top of the 7th, and then leaned on their pitching staff to finish the job. Tiffany Snell earned the win in relief with 3 2/3rd innings pitched. She allowed only three hits while punching out four.

Offensively, Jamie Sevenish was the lone Dragon with multiple hits, finishing 2 for 4 with a run scored and a run batted in. Sierra Besser-Paul added two more runs batted in to her season total, giving her seven in five games.

As a team the Dragons hit .324 with 23 runs scored. On the mound Tiffin's staff posted a 1.17 earned run average and struck out 38 batters.
