Oilers Win Big, 20-2 Over N. Michigan

The University of Findlay women's lacrosse team defeated Northern Michigan University by a score of 20-2 on April 9 at the Armstrong Sports Complex. The victory evens the Oilers record at 6-6 on the season with a 1-1 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

The Oilers jumped out to an 11-0 lead at the break and never looked back. In the victory, the Oilers out-shot the Wildcats by a 43-7 margin and held a 45-18 advantage in ground balls. The Wildcats also turned the ball over 32 times with the Oilers causing 23 of those.

Freshman Ciara Burud led the charge with three goals, three assists and three ground balls while senior Kyra Bradley had three goals, two assists, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Junior Maddi Brown contributed three goals and one assist while sophomore Brie Caruso and senior Allison Kelly each scored two goals in the game.

Junior Olivia Sherman had one goal, two assists, eight ground balls and three caused turnovers while senior Natalie Fury had seven ground balls and six caused turnovers.

Junior Rachel Heath picked up the win by making four saves.

The Oilers will be back in action again on April 15 when they travel to Tiffin University for a 12 p.m. game.
