Dragons win 6th straight match 3-0 over Ashland

Tiffin University (20-12, 10-6 GLIAC) continued its recent hot streak, winning its sixth straight match and avenging an early season loss to Ashland by beating them on Senior Day 25-23, 25-23, 25-15.

TU has now posted the most wins since 2006 with their 20th victory. The Dragons used strong hitting and defense to down the Eagles, who beat TU 3-0 back on Sept. 19. The Dragons hit .294 as a team and posted 12 team blocks. They also registered 7 aces.

TU hit .244 in taking the opening set, but found itself trailing 22-17 near the end of the set. TU responded with a 8-1 run to put the set away and take a 1-0 lead.

It was more of the same in set two, as TU hit .286 but still trailed 23-18 late. Again, the Dragons staged a comeback, ripping off the next 7 points to steal the set by two points.

The third set was all TU, as they crushed the ball at a .375 clip.

Jenna Huffman had a big day, registering 15 kills and hitting .424 while posting 4 blocks, while Amanda Curry had 9 kills and hit .231. Danielle Hicks had 7 kills and a .300 percentage. Kasey Adelsperger also had 5 kills with 4 blocks. Taylor Lattimore had 16 digs with 4 aces, while Emily Weithman and Loryn Huffman combined for 42 assists.

TU will now enter GLIAC Tournament play on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at Michigan Tech.
