Oilers Upend Tiffin 95-63

The Tiffin University women's basketball team had a rough day at the office on Sunday, falling 95-63 to the University of Findlay.

The 1st quarter was a track meet as defense was optional for both teams. The Dragons leaned heavily on the three point jumper, hitting 5 of 6 attempts. Tiffin knocked down 6 of their 9 total field goal attempts as they scored 20 points. The Oilers were a touch better, scoring 27 points to lead Tiffin by seven points.

The 2nd quarter was all Oilers as they outscored Tiffin by 12 points. Tiffin managed 10 points in the quarter, hitting only 3 of 15 field goal attempts. The Dragons were doubled up on the boards in the quarter as Findlay used their inside presence to score 22 points, and lead 49-30 at the half.

In the second half, Findlay continued to dominate as they scored 46 more points in the half, hitting 18 of 34 field goal attempts. The Dragons perimeter shooting went cold, connecting on only 1 of 9 three point attempts as Tiffin fell 95-63.

Tiffin was led in scoring by Annie Santucci with 14 points off the bench. Allie Miller poured in 13 points and snagged six rebounds for the Dragons.

Tiffin falls to 0-2 and will be back in action on Wednesday, hosting the University of Urbana at 5:30 pm.
