The 2012 GLIAC Football Media Day Website went live at 10 a.m. (EDT) on Wednesday morning and includes information on the upcoming campaign with video comments from respective head coaches, video highlights of top returning players and links to team media guides and information in addition to the preseason poll.  The GLIAC Football media guide and record book were also published to the site.

Additionally, the League's annual preseason preview is featured, written by Sandy Gholston.

This year marks the third-straight season in which the league has launched a media day website to promote the conference. Each head coach filmed a short video segment discussing their respective teams and the upcoming season.

The website, which was created by Presto Sports, will be available live online through the official conference website at www.gliac.org.

The 2012 GLIAC football season officially kicks off with seven non-conference games on Thursday, Aug. 30.  One game will be played on Friday, Aug. 31, while four other games will be contested on Saturday, Sept. 1.

The league schedule begins the following week on Saturday, Sept. 8.  The final week of GLIAC regular-season play will take place on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Three GLIAC teams are ranked in the 2012 American Football Coaches Association Preseason Division II Coaches’ Poll with 2011 Division II runner-up Wayne State University ranked fifth.  Grand Valley State University is ranked seventh in the poll while Hillsdale College is ranked 17th in the nation.

Three other GLIAC teams were listed in the "Others Receiving Votes" category including Saginaw Valley State University, Ashland University and Michigan Technological University. That is a snapshot of the strength of the GLIAC on the national level as the start of the 2012 season is just around the corner.
