#2 GLIAC NORTH
MICHIGAN TECH HUSKIES (19-9 ALL, 16-6 GLIAC)

2014-15 Michigan Tech Preview (by Brian Lester, GLIAC contributor)

Coach: Kim Cameron enters her fifth season as the head coach of the Huskies

Overview: The Huskies won’t lack experience as all five starters are back along with four other letterwinners. Junior guard Mackenzie Perttu will lead the way after putting up 15.4 points per outing last year. Junior forward Danielle Blake (13.7) and junior center Kylie Moxley (12.3) also return. Not only were they key scoring threats, but they were strong rebounders as well, averaging 6.8 and 5.6 rebounds, respectively. The Huskies, who tied for second in the North Division last year, should be one of the better defensive teams in the league again after allowing only 65.9 ppg last year.

Noteworthy: The Huskies have won 12 North Division titles and have appeared in the NCAA tournament 17 times.

Michigan Tech Sports Information Preview

Michigan Tech returns all five starters from last year’s squad, which finished within a game of its 13th GLIAC regular season title. Four players averaged double figures in 2013-14 led by guard Mackenzie Perttu at 15.4 points per game. Fellow juniors Danielle Blake (13.7 ppg) and Kylie Moxley (12.3 ppg) give the Huskies scoring balance. Seniors Jillian Ritchie (5-11 F) and Emily Harrison (6-4 C) look to have their best seasons for the Black and Gold. Junior Kerry Gardner and sophomores Morgan Anderson and Kelli Guy give Tech depth in the backcourt.

Head coach Kim Cameron (fifth season, 91-28 record) looks to continue Tech’s tradition of success that includes 17 NCAA Tournament appearances and 26 consecutive winning seasons.
