GVSU No. 5 in the NCBWA Top 25 Poll

Bridgeport, Conn. -- Grand Valley State University's baseball team is ranked No. 5 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II top 25 poll. The Lakers are coming off a 52-5 record in 2011 and a trip to the NCAA Division II World Series.

In the Midwest Region top 10, Grand Valley State remained No. 1, Wayne State University jumped one place into a tie for fifth, Ashland University dropped one place to No. 8, and Saginaw Valley State University remained No. 10.

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) will start conference play March 24 with the GLIAC Tournament set to start May 10 at V.A. Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio.
