BAY CITY, Mich. - Grand Valley State University senior infielder Chris Rudenga (South Holland, Ill./Illiana Christian) and Ashland University sophomore pitcher Jake Baldwin (Madison Heights, Mich.) have been chosen as the GLIAC Baseball "Player of the Week" and "Pitcher of the Week", respectively.

Grand Valley State senior outfielder Chris Rudenga enjoyed the final home games of his career with some big performances against 16th-ranked Ashland. For the three-game series, Rudenga hit .545 (6-for-11), scored four runs, drove in five and hit his first home run of the season, in addition to stealing a base. His best game came in the series finale, when Rudenga went 2-for-4 with two runs and four RBI, including a three-run bomb to help lead the Lakers to a win.

Ashland University sophomore Jake Baldwin made one start last week and defeated Grand Valley State, 1-0. He allowed four hits, did not walk a batter and struck out six in the complete game. Baldwin is now 5-0 on the season and pitched his third consecutive game shutout against GVSU. It was his fourth consecutive start without allowing a run. The last time Baldwin started and allowed a run was at Walsh on Mar. 29.
