BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its third weekly baseball awards for the 2016 season. Grand Valley State junior Kyle Lawson captured GLIAC North Division Pitcher of the Week honors, while Wayne State junior infielder Jeremy Carrell collected GLIAC North Division Player of the Week accolades. In the South Division, Ohio Dominican freshman pitcher Brad Wilson garnered GLIAC Pitcher of the Week awards along with his ODU teammate sophomore outfielder Lee Sponseller who was named GLIAC Player of the Week.

| Highlights: Wayne State junior Jeremy Carrell has returned to the top of WSU's lineup after missing all of 2015 due to injury and is reminding opponents of his skill set. He hit .529 this past week with hits in all four games including three multiple-hit games and two three-hit performances. The shortstop totaled five runs scored. He drove in three runs with two doubles in the 12-4 win over Minnesota Duluth. In addition, he only made one error in 20 chances. | |||
