BAY CITY, Mich. -- The top-seeded Northwood Timberwolves captured the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Baseball Tournament Championship on Sunday (May 14) at the Athletes in Action Sports Complex in Xenia, Ohio. The Timberwolves defeated No. 3 Tiffin by a final score of 8-4.

Recap: One day after Northwood shutout Tiffin 16-0, the Dragons came out with energy and surged to a 4-0 lead midway through three innings of action. The Timberwolves trimmed the deficit to two with a 2-RBI single from GLIAC Freshman of the Year David Vinsky in the third before Ryan McClelland put NU ahead with a 3-run homer in the fifth. Northwood gave itself insurance with an RBI sacrifice fly from David Vinsky followed by a 2-run single from Javier Martinez as NU went on to capture the title by an 8-4 margin.
