Northwood Selected to Host NCAA Division II Baseball Regional; Wayne State No. 6 Seed

NCAA - Two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) baseball programs have been selected to participate in the 2017 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship's Midwest Regional with the GLIAC Champions Northwood University set to host this week's regional tournament.

The Northwood Timberwolves earned the top spot in the region after a 43-11 season, including 26-6 in GLIAC play to earn the conference regular season crown before going unbeaten to claim the GLIAC Tournament title earlier on Sunday (May 14). NU outscored opponents in the league tournament by a 40-5 margin.

Wayne State posted a 31-19 mark on the season and a 20-10 conference performance to finish second. The Warriors landed the No. 6 seed in the region and will face No. 3 Quincy in first round action.

First-round games will be played in Midland, Michigan on Thursday, May 18. Eastern. The Midwest Region Tournament is similar to the GLIAC Tournament in that it has a double elimination format.
