Lakers Sweep GLIAC Baseball Player of the Week Honors

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly baseball awards following week five of the 2017 campaign. Grand Valley State junior Austin LaDoux earned GLIAC Baseball Player of the Week honors, while Grand Valley State junior Noah Lamboley captured Pitcher of the Week accolades.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Austin LaDoux, Grand Valley State

Grand Valley State junior Austin LaDoux led the Lakers in hitting this week, as he built up a .533 average at the plate with eight hits (six for extra bases), including his first home run of the season. LaDoux hit five doubles this week and drove in six runs during that span. The infielder is now ranked fifth in the GLIAC in average on the season at .447, and is tied for third in the GLIAC with eight doubles on the season. 


PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Noah Lamboley, Grand Valley State

Grand Valley State junior Noah Lamboley pitched a gem in winning his first start of the season, hurling six innings against Pace and allowing just one run on four hits. Later saw 2.1 innings of action in GVSU's 7-3 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside, picking up a second win in relief. Lamboley now sports a 1.76 ERA and a 3-0 record on the season in 15.1 innings pitched, with opponents batting just .237 against him.
