NU's Kin, WSU's McInereny Earn Baseball Weekly Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its eighth weekly baseball awards of the 2021 Baseball season. Northwood senior Connor Kin was awarded Player of the Week honors, while Wayne State senior Dillon McInereny was awarded Pitcher of the Week accolades for the second straight week. 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Connor Kin, Northwood

Connor Kin was the leader of a record-breaking performance at Saginaw Valley May 1, setting a school record with four home runs in a 31-12 win over the Cardinals. He ended the game 4-6 overall with five RBIs. The Timberwolves hit 10 home runs in the game, the most in GLIAC history and the fourth most in Division II history. Kin also had at least one hit in the other three games and totaled eight runs, five walks and three stolen bases for the week. He finished with a .571 average for the week to go along with a .714 on-base percentage and a 1.500 slugging percentage.


PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Dillon McInereny, Wayne State

Dillon McInerney (Richmond, Mich.) has been named GLIAC Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week.  He tossed his second career nine-inning complete game on Friday as Wayne State started the Purdue Northwest series with a win.  The Warrior ace struck out six batters and allowed two runs on five hits, while improving to 5-1 on the year.  McInerney now carries a 0.94 ERA and a .198 batting average against..
