DU's Marcoux, NU's Schultz Earn Baseball Weekly Honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its ninth weekly baseball awards of the 2021 Baseball season. Davenport Junior  Noah Marcoux was awarded Player of the Week honors, while Northwood junior Drew Schultz was awarded Pitcher of the Week accolades. 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Noah Marcoux, Davenport

Marcoux drove in 10 runs during the four-game sweep at Wayne State which propelled the Panthers into third place in the GLIAC standings. In Game 1 on Saturday, he went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored. In Game 1 on Monday, he set a new career high with six RBI including a two-run single in the fourth and a grand slam in the sixth. He now has 11 home runs this season to lead the conference and match his season total from 2019. In Game 2 on Monday, he hit a two-run double to open the scoring in the third inning of a 9-2 win. DU outscored the Warriors 33-12 in the four-game sweep.


PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Drew Schultz, Northwood

Drew Schultz tossed six shutout innings in Northwood's 10-1 win over Parkside Saturday afternoon. He struck out eight in six innings, allowing four hits while walking one. The win improved Schultz to 4-1 on the season.
