WSU's DeLanoy and Kilander receive weekly GLIAC baseball honors

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its fourth weekly baseball awards of the 2023 baseball season. Wayne State swept the awards with graduate student outfielder Hunter DeLanoy receiving GLIAC Baseball Player of the Week recognition and sophomore Griffin Kilander earning pitcher of the week.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hunter DeLanoy, Wayne State

Hunter DeLanoy was named GLIAC Player of the Week on Monday after hitting .500 (14-for-28) last week, a seven-day stretch that saw Wayne State go 7-1. DeLanoy racked up nine runs scored, four doubles, one triple, a homerun, 10 RBI, five walks, two stolen bases, and 1.409 OPS.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Griffin Kilander, Wayne State

Griffin Kilander garnered GLIAC Pitcher of the Week honors this afternoon after giving up just one earned run in 11.1 innings pitched for a 0.79 ERA last week. Kilander made a trio of appearances with a pair of victories, 13 strikeouts, only two walks, and 10.3 punchouts per nine innings.
