    BAY CITY, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its 2010 composite football schedule. The 2010 NCAA Division II football season kicks off on the weekend of Sept. 2-4.

Kickoff versus the Buffaloes is set for Thursday, Sept. 2 at 8 p.m. in Lubbers Stadium.

    WACO, TEX.– Northwest Missouri State broke out to a 21-0 lead in the NCAA Division II national title game and held on for a 30-23 win over Grand Valley State (Mich.) to claim the school’s third national championship and the top spot in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Poll. It is the first time the Bearcats have claimed the season ending No. 1 spot in the Coaches’ Poll after coming in No. 2 for the last four years. The AFCA began the Division II Coaches’ Poll in 2000.

Saturday's game at Minnesota-Duluth marked the ninth straight year the Lakers have appeared in the NCAA quarterfinals.
