WACO, Texas - Ten Top 25 teams lost this past weekend, including five Top 10 teams, which caused a lot of reshuffling in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. Former No. 1 Minnesota-Duluth lost to Wayne State (Neb.), 7-0, dropping the Bulldogs to No. 11. Abilene Christian (Texas), Texas A&M-Kingsville, Albany State (Ga.) and St. Cloud State (Minn.) also lost, with only Abilene Christian staying in the Top 10.

Northwest Missouri State takes over the top spot after a 73-7 win over Lincoln (Mo.). The Bearcats received 26 of a possible 29 first place votes. North Alabama received two first place votes and moves up to No. 2 after its 23-17 victory over then-No. 3 Abilene Christian. Shepherd (W.Va.), Bloomsburg (Pa.) and Valdosta State (Ga.) round out the Top 5. Grand Valley State (Mich.) dropped out of the poll for the first time since the final poll in 2000. That ends a streak of 138 straight appearances in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll for the Lakers, which was the longest active streak in Division II.
