Findlay's Isaiah Ballard Named D2Football.com "Defensive Player of the Week"

Liberty, Mo. - Senior defensive back Isaiah Ballard, who was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, was selected as the NCAA Division II Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, September 27 according to D2Football.com.

Ballard led a defensive effort that helped the Oilers end an 11 game losing streak to Grand Valley State. The senior safety had a total of ten tackles, including one for a loss, and forced three fumbles in the upset victory. Early in the third quarter, Ballard forced a fumble and returned it 39 yards for a touchdown. The defensive score gave the Oilers a 13 point lead and the Ballard-lead defense relinquished just ten points to the Lakers in the second half.
