DETROIT - Wayne State University sophomore place-kicker Stefan Terleckyj (Warren, Mich./Warren Mott) is one of 42 kickers in the nation who was honored as one of the top performers for the month of September by the Fred Mitchell Committee.

Terleckyj was one of 18 NCAA Division II kickers honored for the opening month of the season.  He began the season on the Mitchell Watch List with the recipient of the Fred Mitchell Award being chosen based on excellence on the football field and in the community.

After five weeks of the 2011 campaign, Terleckyj is second in scoring among GLIAC kickers at 8.8 points per game.  He has made 26-of-27 extra point attempts, and six-of-seven field goals.  His 85.7 field goal percentage is tied for the highest in the conference among those with at least six attempts, while his 26 made extra points leads the GLIAC.

The Warriors own the nation's longest winning streak at nine games (along with Washburn and Colorado State-Pueblo) and host league rival Lake Erie College at noon this Saturday at Adams Field.
