GLIAC Football Preview Notes - Week 10 - GLIAC

BAY CITY, Mich. - Week #10 of the 2012 college football season finds the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) with three teams ranked in the latest NCAA Division II Super Region #4 poll.

Super Region #4 consists of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Lone Star Conference (LSC) and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). The top six teams in the final regional poll will make the NCAA Division II Playoffs.

Ashland University is #1 in this week's poll, followed by Saginaw Valley State University at #6, and Grand Valley State University at #9.

Ashland (9-0, 8-0) can clinch the GLIAC Championship on Saturday when the Eagles visit Tiffin University (2-7, 1-7) on Saturday (1:30 p.m.). Ashland claimed at least a share of the GLIAC crown with a 42-21 win over University of Findlay (5-3, 5-3) last Saturday.

Saginaw Valley State (7-2, 6-2) is coming off an impressive 34-23 home win over Michigan Technological University last Saturday. The Cardinals will try to keep their GLIAC North Division and postseason hopes alive when they visit the Superior Dome on Saturday for a clash with Northern Michigan University (3-6, 2-6).

Grand Valley State University (7-2, 6-2) is tied with SVSU on top of the GLIAC North Division. The Lakers, who are coming off a stellar 42-23 road win at Hillsdale College last weekend, will host Wayne State University (5-3, 5-3) on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
