2013 GLIAC Football Media Day Website To Launch at Noon Today

BAY CITY, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) will unveil its 2013 preseason poll and season preview in conjunction with the launch of a special website at Noon on Monday (Aug. 26).

The 2013 GLIAC Football Media Day Website will include information on the upcoming campaign with video comments from respective head coaches, video highlights of top returning players and links to team media guides and information in addition to the preseason poll.  The GLIAC Football media guide and record book will also be published to the site.

Additionally, the League's annual preseason preview will be featured and was written by Tony Nicolette.

This year marks the fourth-straight season in which the league has launched a media day website to promote the conference. Each head coach filmed a short video segment discussing their respective teams and the upcoming season.

The website, which was created by Presto Sports, will be available live online through the official conference website at www.gliac.org.

The 2013 GLIAC football season officially kicks off with six non-conference games on Thursday, Sept. 5.  Seven other games will be contested on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The league schedule begins the following week on Saturday, Sept. 14.  The final week of GLIAC regular-season play will take place on Saturday, Nov. 16.

Three GLIAC teams are ranked in the 2013 American Football Coaches Association Preseason Division II Coaches' Poll with Ashland University ranked ninth.  Grand Valley State University is ranked 14th in the poll while Saginaw Valley State University is ranked 22nd in the nation.

Five other GLIAC teams were listed in the "Others Receiving Votes" category  including Michigan Technological University, Ferris State University, Hillsdale College, Ohio Dominican University and Wayne State University. That is a snapshot of the strength of the GLIAC on the national level as the start of the 2013 season is just around the corner.
