Lakers Remain Second in Latest AFCA Football Poll

WACO, TEX. –  Three Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) football programs are ranked inside the Top 25 of 2016 American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches' Poll after five weeks of action.

Grand Valley State pulled out a tough 24-21 victory on the road at Ohio Dominican to remain in the No. 2 position for the fourth consecutive week thanks to a Devin McKissic redzone interception to seal the victory with 17 seconds remaining. GVSU's Week 6 opponent Ferris State fell one spot to No. 14 after the Bulldogs survived a road scare 20-17 at Findlay, while the Ashland Eagles fell 35-32 at Tiffin and dropped the No. 17 in this week's rankings.
