The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) landed ten Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Super Region 3 awards, including Ashland senior quarterback Travis Tarnowski and Ferris State junior Zach Sieler being named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively.
Tarnowski, the GLIAC Player of the Year, threw for 3,044 yards and 31 touchdowns against only five interceptions. He finished his career with a 38-7 record and led the Eagles to a pair of GLIAC titles and two playoff appearances. Tarnowski set schools records for touchdown passes (111), passing yards (11,321) and total offense yards (11,741). He ranks as the Division II active leader in all three categories.
Sieler won the GLIAC Defensive Lineman of the Year for the second-straight year. Sieler led the Bulldogs to the D2 Super Region final for the second consecutive year. He ranked 10th in the nation in tackles for loss and in the top five among active Division II players in sacks and tackles for loss. Sieler set the school single-season records for tackles for loss and sacks in 2016.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
