BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following the opening weekend of the 2017 football season. Saginaw Valley sophomore running back Tommy Scott Jr. earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Wayne State redshirt senior safety Ronny Brant II captured GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition along with Michigan Tech sophomore Jacob Wenzlick who claimed GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week accolades.

The sophomore totaled 210 all-purpose yards, registering three touchdowns for the second time in his career against the Battlers. He rushed 24 times for 132 yards and two scores, adding 78 yards on three catches with a touchdown.
