Tiffin University's Antonio Pipkin commenced the next part of his football playing career, signing as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals.

Pipkin, a Senior Bowl participant and a Don Hansen Honorable Mention All-American selection, threw for 2,534 yards on 216 completions. Pipkin tossed 25 touchdown passes, and added 757 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns.

Antonio is the Tiffin University all-time leader in pass attempts, touchdowns, passing yards, completions, total offense, and career plays. The 4-time All-GLIAC selection completed his Tiffin career this past season, finishing as only the 3rd quarterback at the NCAA Division II level to pass for at least 10,000 yards and rush for at least 2,000 yards.

In the weeks preceding the Senior Bowl, many Dragons fans wondered if Pipkin might become the first TU player selected in the NFL Draft. While that did not happen, it presented Pipkin with the chance to sign with a team that offered him a good opportunity.

"I want to show the other 31 teams they missed out on a great player," Pipkin said. "I got a call from my agent saying the (Cardinals') staff really liked me."

TU Head Coach Gary Goff said when he talked to Pipkin Saturday night, he had a message for him.

"Rookie camp, go there with a chip on your shoulder, but be yourself," Goff said. "You're gonna have a career playing pro ball."'

"I'm going in, I gotta grind, make my mark first day I show up in Arizona," he said. "I didn't get to see my name across the (draft) ticker, but I still have an opportunity."
