Davenport picked up the lone victory amongst league teams with a 44-7 road victory over Robert Morris (NAIA) outside of Chicago. DU quarterback Deondre Ford set a new Panther record with four touchdown passes in the victory. Northern Michigan dropped a 34-28 road decision at McKendree despite running back Jake Mayon going for 173 yards on 27 carries and a touchdown. Benjamin Loutsis also hauled in five receptions for 117 yards and a score for the Wildcats. Northwood fell on the road at Tiffin 40-27 to close Saturday's action. NU quarterback Joe Garbarino went for 174 yards through the air and 102 on the ground in the defeat.

The GLIAC posted an impressive 5-1 record on Thursday's Opening Night in Division II college football, highlighted by No. 10 Grand Valley State overwhelming No. 13 Indianapolis 30-7 thanks to more than 13,000 screaming Laker fans in Allendale. GVSU wideout Austin Paritee caught eight balls for 134 yards and two touchdowns, while Chawntez Moss rushed for 135 yards and a 26-yard scamper to paydirt in the victory.

No. 8 Ferris State decimated East Stroudsburg in Big Rapids Thursday night after the Bulldogs ran out to an early 35-0 advantage midway through the second quarter. Jayru Campbell led FSU with 204 yards through the air with two scores along with 100 yards on the ground and another TD. Ferris accumulated 649 yards total offense on the night and got a monster defensive effort from DeShaun Thrower who picked up a fumble recovery and return it 51 yards to paydirty and also recorded an interception.

Wayne State earned its first shutout since 2011 after a 31-0 win over visiting Walsh. The Warriors held the Cavaliers to only 155 yards of total offense in the contest and posted 21 points in the fourth quarter to run away late. Saginaw Valley posted a dominant 45-7 victory over Alderson Broaddus as quarterback Tyler Conklin (25-for-34, 303 yards, 4 TDs) and Chad Galliard (9 receptions, 155 yards, 2 TDs) are proving to be a dangerous combination.

Michigan Tech was the lone GLIAC member to hit the road on Thursday but the Huskies came away with big 20-10 victory over Truman State. Tech wide receiver Jacob Wenzlick recorded seven catches for 172 yards and a touchdown, while James Henderson racked up 105 yards rushing in the win. The Huskies did not allow an offensive touchdown in the contest.

The only defeat of the night for the conference came when No. 4 Indiana (Pa.) tripped up No. 15 Ashland after the Eagles last-minute drive deep in enemy territory fell short of the first down marker. AU running back Andrew Vaughn carried the rock 22 times for 133 yards and a score to prove the pop to the offense in the loss.
