GLIAC -- Week 8 of the 2018 GLIAC Football season is in the books! Game notes, audio, video and live stats links for nine GLIAC football contests on Saturday, Oct. 20 can be found below.

No. 8 Grand Valley State survived crosstown rival Davenport on the road thanks to a 53-yard touchdown connection from QB Cole Kotopka to wideout Nick Dotson with 96 seconds remaining to give GVSU the victory, 19-14. Chawntez Moss carried the ball 20 times for 103 yards and a TD, while Austin Paritee seven passes for 127 yards in the win. DU quarterback Haiden Majewski notched a pair of passing touchdowns, including seven receptions from Keion Powers for 100 yards a score.

No. 2 Ferris State trailed 14-7 at the break before posting 21 unanswered points in the second half on the road in a 28-14 victory over Saginaw Valley. FSU quarterback Jayru Campbell once again accounted for all four touchdowns in the Bulldogs' victory, including 165 yards on the ground and three scores, while passing for 119 yards and a score highlighted by a 62-yard pitch-and-catch with Jevon Shaw to paydirt less than two minutes into the contest. SVSU running back Nate McCrary found the endzone twice, while wideout Chad Gailliard caught seven balls for 132 yards.

Ashland held Michigan Tech to 159 yards of total offense and pitched a shutout until the final minute to earn a dominant 27-7 home conference victory. The Eagles rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns on the ground in the victory. AU QB Austin Brenner went 23-for-32 for 198 yards and a rushing touchdown in the victory.

Wayne State overwhelmed Northwood in the evening matchup of the day running out 41-0 lead thanks to 399 rushing yards and 500 total offense. WSU running back James Hill accumulated 235 yards on 23 carries and four touchdowns on the night, while his counterpart DeOntay Moffett recorded 22 carries for 141 yards and three scores in the victory.

In the lone non-conference contest of the day, Northern Michigan decimated Lawrence Tech (NAIA), 65-7. NMU scored 30 points in the first quarter and racked up 600 yards of total offense, including 444 rush yards.
