Grand Valley State Improves to No. 5, Ferris State No. 6 in Latest AFCA Rankings

WACO, TEX. – Two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) football programs continue to improve their positions inside the AFCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Grand Valley State moved up three spots to No. 5 after shutting down Delta State on the road in Mississippi last week, while Ferris State also jumped up three spots after a dominant performance over No. 19 Findlay. Ashland fell outside the rankings and sits in the other receiving votes category after a close loss at Ohio Dominican (now No. 12).

Week 3 features five contests with both GVSU & FSU hitting the road as conference play gets underway. The No. 5 Lakers head up to Marquette to battle Jake Mayon and the Northern Michigan Wildcats, while the No. 6 Bulldogs head to Midland to tangle with the Northwood Timberwolves at the newly renovated Hantz Stadium. Ashland heads to Detroit to battle Wayne State in a 6 p.m. contest.
